Recognition

ORIE faculty members have been honored with some of the most prestigious distinctions in our field. Our current faculty includes fellows of societies including the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). ORIE faculty have served as presidents of the INFORMS Decision Analysis Society and IISE Operations Research Division, and as editors of major journals including Operations Research, Mathematics of Operations Research, Decision Analysis, and The Engineering Economist. They have received awards such as the Fulbright Scholarship, National Science Foundation (NSF) International Research Fellowship, NSF CAREER Award, and Google Faculty Research Award.

ORIE students are often recognized for their excellent research and extracurricular involvement. Our student chapter of INFORMS recently won the Magna Cum Laude student chapter award, the second highest honor awarded by INFORMS to student groups. ORIE students regularly publish in top journals and have been named as winners or finalists of best paper awards given out by IISE Transactions, the U.S. Association for Energy Economics, and Decision Analysis.
