ORIE PhD student Ashutosh Shukla received the Best Student Paper Award from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) Energy Systems Division.
To win this award, Ashutosh presented his paper titled "Budget Allocation in Optimizing Power Grid Resilience to Extreme Weather: Hardening, Preparation, or Recovery?" at the IISE Annual Meeting in Seattle in May. Co-authors on this paper included fellow ORIE PhD student Brent Austgen as well as ORIE Professor Erhan Kutanoglu and ORIE Professor John Hasenbein.
The Energy Systems Division Best Student Paper Award recognizes student members whose paper and presentation in the Energy Systems Track at the IISE Annual Conference & Expo, both represent the highest level of excellence.
